The Birds of Audubon Circle is a public art piece commissioned in 2005 by the City of Boston, paid for by the Browne Fund and the ACNA and dedicated by Mayor Menino in the Fall of 2005. The Birds were designed by local resident and urban designer Mark Favermann. It consists of 20 metal birds representing birds of local species mounted on top of street lights. The work was nominated as one of the best pieces of public art in America in 2006 by the Boston Arts Commission. The Birds of Audubon Circle is a gateway to the City of Boston and a neighborhood landmark for the Audubon Circle neighborhood.
